Magic 8 Ball predictions for the 2024 Cincinnati Bengals

Mattel's Magic 8 Ball has been predicting the future since 1946. We ran a few questions about the Cincinnati Bengals by one, and the results were mixed.

For those unfamiliar with the concept, users ask yes-no questions to the ball, shake it, and then turn it over to reveal the answer. We opted for an online version to ask the following:

Will the Bengals extend Tee Higgins?

Magic 8 Ball says: My reply is no

Higgins requested a trade in March after revealing he had not spoken with the team about a long-term contract extension in about a year.

He has since revealed that he expects to play for the Bengals in 2024.

"I do anticipate it," Higgins told WLWT.

However, that doesn't mean it will be because of a new contract.

Cincinnati is clearly trying to run it back one last time with Higgins and Ja'Marr Chase, who is also due for a massive contract extension.

Will they extend Ja'Marr Chase?

Magic 8 Ball says: Yes

This one should be a no-brainer for the Bengals.

Chase has registered 268 catches for 3,717 yards and 29 touchdowns since entering the league as the No. 5 overall pick in 2021.

The 24-year-old said earlier this offseason that he wanted to wait for his former LSU teammate Justin Jefferson to sign a new deal before signing one of his own. He was asked if Jefferson getting a deal done is a prerequisite for signing an extension.

His response: "Hell yeah."

Now that that has happened, Chase is one step closer to receiving his eventual payday.

Will Joe Burrow stay healthy for the entire season?

Magic 8 Ball says: You may rely on it

For as many highs as Burrow has had through his first four seasons, he's had just about as many lows.

The No. 1 overall pick in 2020 tore his ACL and MCL during his rookie season and then suffered another season-ending injury (wrist) in 2023.

When healthy, Burrow is one of the best quarterbacks in the league, throwing for 14,083 yards and 97 touchdowns across 52 games. He has struggled to stay on the field through his first four years in the NFL.

If he can finally stay healthy for the 2024 season, the team may just get another shot at winning its first Super Bowl.

Will Cincinnati have one of the league's worst rushing offenses?

Magic 8 Ball says: Outlook not so good

This offseason, the Bengals decided it was time to move on from running back Joe Mixon, the franchise's third-all-time leading rusher, and sent him to the Houston Texans for a 2024 seventh-round pick.

The move might have been easier to swallow if Cincinnati had done more than just sign veteran running back Zack Moss in free agency, but that wasn't the case.

Moss and 2023 fifth-round pick Chase Brown will now split the backfield after rushing for a combined 973 yards and five touchdowns last season.
