Watch: UFL championship marred by late on-field altercation between Stallions, Brahmas

Sunday's UFL Championship was already a laugher, with the Birmingham Stallions solidifying back-to-back-to-back titles in a 25-0 victory over the San Antonio Brahmas. But, with the result already in hand late, things got ugly.

With 3:06 to play, Stallions tight end Jace Sternberger, a former member of the Green Bay Packers, got into a nasty tussle with cornerback Bryce Thompson of the Brahmas. After officials handed out off-setting unnecessary roughness penalties, they ejected both players from the game.

The one-sided affair lent itself to shenanigans, which were brewing even before the ejection-filled mix-up late in the fourth quarter. With the Stallions holding a commanding 22-0 lead with 14:54 left, running back Ricky Person Jr. taunted CB Teez Tabor before pointing to the scoreboard.

The brouhaha of hurt feelings aside, Birmingham dominated Sunday's title game. The Stallions out-gained the Brahmas 308-208 and 210-52 on the ground, led by stellar days from Person Jr. and the game's Most Valuable Player, quarterback Adrian Martinez.

Person Jr. rushed for 102 yards (13 attempts), but Martinez was the true difference-maker. The former Kansas State and Nebraska standout passed for 98 yards (13-of-23) and a touchdown but found the end zone twice with his legs, finishing with 52 rushing yards (11 attempts).
