Chase Briscoe on Saturday addressed rumors about his potential move to Joe Gibbs Racing (JGR).

Martin Truex Jr. announced on Friday that he will retire from racing full-time in the Cup Series at the end of the season. Truex’s retirement will create a vacancy in the No. 19 Toyota Camry for JGR, and reports say Briscoe is the favorite to take over the spot.

Briscoe, who drives the No. 14 Ford Mustang Dark Horse for Stewart–Haas Racing, intimated Saturday that things are close for him to find a ride for next season.

“Definitely working on it,” Briscoe said. “Feel like I’m pretty close I think, so yeah. Nothing to announce yet, but definitely working on it. Feel pretty good about it.”

Stewart-Haas Racing is closing at the end of the season, which leaves Josh Berry, Noah Gragson, Ryan Preece and Briscoe looking for rides.

Briscoe may not be ready to announce a move to JGR just yet, but it seems like something is close.
