The injury news has not been kind for the Los Angeles Dodgers this weekend. Just one day after losing starting pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto to the injured list, they suffered another major injury in their 3-0 win over the Kansas City Royals on Sunday afternoon.
Superstar shortstop Mookie Betts suffered a fractured bone in his left wrist according to manager Dave Roberts, and he is expected to miss "some time" as a result.
The only positive news to come out of that announcement is that Betts will not require surgery.

There is no timeline for his return at the moment.
Betts was injured on Sunday when he was struck on the left wrist by a 98 mph fastball in the bottom of the seventh inning and immediately dropped to the ground, writhing in pain.
The Dodgers are still in a good position in the standings and with their lineup even without Betts. They are in first place in the National League West and still have two more MVPs in their lineup with Shohei Ohtani and Freddie Freeman to help carry the offense.
As long as Betts is back and healthy in time for the playoffs, things should be okay. But that is still going to be a big loss in the short-term, and there does have to be some concern as to how impactful Betts will be when he does return.
Hand and wrist injuries can be difficult to come back from quickly, and that could be an issue. All the Dodgers can do now is wait and see.
