For the last few years, San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle has gathered some of the top players at his position in Nashville, Tenn., for a special training summit in preparation of the upcoming season.
Philadelphia Eagles receiver A.J. Brown likes the idea so much that he’s advocating for a wide receiver version of Kittle’s Tight End University (TEU.)
“Wideouts wassup?” Brown tweeted. “The Tight Ends get together for a weekend. The Db’s link up. The pass rushers even get together. Come on guys , we can’t be too big time to link up and learn. I’m a fan of everyone and willing to work with whoever. Let’s make it happen wideouts.”
Kittle started TEU along with Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and former TE-turned-broadcaster Greg Olsen back in 2021 as a way to bring together the top players at the position to share tips, give advice and train together for three days in the dead of summer.
Among the players seemingly in support of Brown’s “WRU” idea are Miami Dolphins wideout Tyreek Hill plus retired WRs Dez Bryant and Chad Johnson.

Top rookies coming into the league like Marvin Harrison Jr., Malik Nabers and Rome Odunze could gain invaluable experience working with multi-time Pro Bowlers such as Brown or Hill.
It wouldn’t be the first time Brown organized an event to help build comradery. Last season, he organized a team-building trip to an escape room during the Eagles’ late-season losing streak to try and help them snap out of their funk.
On the surface, setting up a multi-day WR summit doesn’t sound like a daunting task, but things can get a bit more complicated considering most quarterbacks prefer to have their top receivers working out with them personally during the offseason.
