Cardinals QB Kyler Murray explains why he expects offense to be 'top of the league'

The Arizona Cardinals had one of the worst offenses in the league last season, averaging the eighth-fewest points per game (19.4) and seventh-fewest passing yards per game (184.9).

However, quarterback Kyler Murray expects the group to make a complete turnaround this year and it's all because of the addition of rookie wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr.

"I think that takes us to another level," Murray said, via ESPN. "When you got a guy out there that is capable of winning one-on-ones, obviously he's got to go do it and he knows that. We all know it, but as far as manipulating coverage and stuff like that, you got a guy out there that can do that and even if he's not open, he's open. I'm excited to be able to build that with him, but when he does what he does, yeah, I fully expect our offense to be top of the league."

The No. 4 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft should be the bona fide No. 1 wide receiver Arizona has been missing after reeling in 144 catches for 2,474 yards and 28 touchdowns the past two seasons at Ohio State.

He also has the genetics and background to be successful as his father is Indianapolis Colts Hall of Fame wide receiver Marvin Harrison.

While everyone around Harrison Jr. recognizes that he can be a special player just like his dad, he knows he must prove himself like everybody else.

"I didn't want to come in here with a big head," Harrison stated. "I knew I had to earn everything, so just simple things like that. Let [the veteran wide receivers] go in front [during drills] as they rightfully deserve. And then they kinda allow me to go in front now because they understand what I can bring to the team."

Harrison Jr. seems to be quickly earning the respect of his new teammates, even those on the other side of the ball.

"You look at his height and then you look at his movement ability, those two things usually don't match up like that," cornerback Garrett Williams added. "So, for him to do it and make everything look so easily, the ball tracking ability, he's everything people said he is."

Of course, Harrison Jr. must prove he can live up to expectations against non-friendly competition, but that time will be here sooner than later.
