Watch: Liberty were determined to end Angel Reese's double-double streak

Chicago Sky rookie Angel Reese saw her WNBA record streak of consecutive double-doubles come to an end on Saturday afternoon in an 81-67 loss to the New York Liberty. Going into the game Reese had recorded a double-double in 15 consecutive games and was two points away from extending it to a 16th game.

The Liberty were determined to not let that happen.

Especially in the closing seconds as Reese was calling for the ball when the outcome was already completely determined. As Reese ended up getting the ball near the paint, the Liberty swarmed her with four defenders to make sure she could not get a shot off.

That is the most aggressive defending you are ever going to see in a 14-point game with less than 30 seconds to play. Players always know what is at stake, whether it is on an individual level or team level.

Reese ended up having another monster game rebounding by grabbing 16 of them, but her eight points left her just two points short of another double-double.
