Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin and players, coaches from across the NFL reacted to the sudden passing of Jacoby Jones on Sunday morning. Jones was found on Sunday after dying in his sleep, according to Aaron Wilson of KRPC Houston.
Jones was best known for his return-game prowess over his nine-year NFL career and his receiving and a return touchdown in the win over the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl XLVII.
Jones spent one season with the Steelers, his final year in the NFL in 2015. He played four games in Pittsburgh, exclusively as a punt and kick returner.
While with the Ravens in 2013, Tomlin disrupted his progress down the sideline, preventing him from scoring a touchdown. Tomlin claimed he did so accidentally. He was later fined $100,000 for the incident. It was on of the most notable Steelers-related moments in Jones’ career.
My heartfelt sympathy goes out to the family of Jacoby Jones during this difficult time. I enjoyed coaching him during his time with the Steelers.

Jacoby was one of the most fun-loving teammates and people I’ve ever been around. Always dancing and laughing, with a permanent smile on his face.
Gone far, far too soon.
R.I.P Jacoby Jones.
