The American soccer world got a big shake up on Wednesday evening as reports swirled that A-list soccer manager Mauricio Pochettino would be the next US Men's National Team coach.

Those reports were confirmed on Thursday morning, with Pochettino stepping in as Gregg Berhalter's replacement. The 52-year old Argentine has managed clubs such as Tottenham, Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain, most famously guiding Spurs to a Champions League final in the 2018-19 campaign.

It's the most high-profile hire in the history of the men's National Team, though the women brought on former Chelsea manager Emma Hayes and instantly won gold at the Olympics. If Pochettino can do something like that for the men, it would be utter pandemonium in the States.

With the 2026 World Cup (hosted by the United States, Mexico and Canada) around the corner, here is how the odds look following the hire of Pochettino.

As evidenced from the market, the US is still on the outside looking in on the serious contenders for the event, but it remains to be seen how that will shift as we enter the Pochettino era.

Buckle up for what promises to be one of the most exciting times in United States soccer history.
