It might only be the second week of the preseason, but Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is already doing things that only he can do on a football field.
Or that only he would attempt.
In the first quarter of Saturday's preseason game against the Detroit Lions, Mahomes busted out a ridiculous behind-the-back pass that he completed to tight end Travis Kelce for a first down.
Have a look.

It might only be one pass in a preseason game that does not count and will eventually be forgotten when the real games begin, but no one should doubt Mahomes' ability to break it out during the season.
It is now something that opposing defenses have to be aware of during games because he has shown not only a willingness to try it, but the capability to execute it.
Mahomes is not only the best player in football, but he is also the most exciting and unpredictable. Plays like this are exactly why.
