The 'Second-most career home runs for each MLB franchise' quiz

Heading into the 2025 MLB season, the MVP race was expected to be between Dodgers sensation Shohei Ohtani and New York Mets record-setting free agent acquisition Juan Soto. Instead it is a different (and much longer tenured) Met giving Ohtani a run for his money early in June – Pete Alonso.

Before the season began it wasn’t even a sure thing Alonso would be back in Queens, but he signed a two-year, $54-million contract in February after his clutch hitting helped the Mets get to the NLCS. This year he’s hitting what would be a career-best .301 with 17 home runs while leading the Major Leagues in RBI with 61.

Which brings us to today’s quiz. Alonso has been a masher his entire career with the Mets, and his latest home run against the Colorado Rockies moved him into second place on the Mets all-time home run leaderboard. With that being said, can you name the player with the second-most home runs all-time for each MLB franchise?

Good luck!
