Steelers QB Aaron Rodgers shares funny exchange he had with WR DK Metcalf

Aaron Rodgers spoke with the media on Tuesday for the first time since he signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers, and the veteran quarterback shared an entertaining story about an exchange he had with one of his new teammates.

Rodgers had a private throwing session with Steelers wide receiver DK Metcalf a month ago, which was well before Rodgers agreed to join his new team. The 41-year-old spoke very highly of Metcalf at the time, and that theme continued on Tuesday.

Rodgers praised Metcalf for his athletic ability, but he said he is even more excited about the Pro Bowl receiver's character.

"He's big, athletic, fast, great hands, ball skills but the thing that really excites me the most is his character. I think he's a high character guy," Rodgers said, via Nick Shook of NFL.com. "I was teasing him in one of the first conversations we had, he said, 'Yes sir' 10 times and I said, 'Is that because I'm 41?' and he said, 'No, that's how I talk.' I just like his whole personality and approach and the way he is on the field."

Metcalf was probably showing Rodgers a level of respect that he might not show a rookie, but you can understand why Rodgers was impressed.

Steelers fans were also excited about a photo that emerged of Rodgers and Metcalf at a teammate's charity golf tournament on Monday.

Pittsburgh traded a second-round draft pick along with a pick swap to the Seattle Seahawks in exchange for Metcalf back in March. Metcalf had 900 or more receiving yards in all six seasons of his seasons with the Seahawks, so the Steelers are hoping for similar success in 2025.

The chemistry between Rodgers and Metcalf should be a good sign for the Steelers.
