On the heels of producing a high-tech, edge-of-your-seat racing thriller in "F1," producer Jerry Bruckheimer isn't shying away from talks of a potential sequel to the 1990 NASCAR-centric film "Days of Thunder."
During an interview at an event for the release of "F1," Bruckheimer was asked about a potential "Days of Thunder" sequel. The 81-year-old appeared to confirm that he and Tom Cruise have had discussions regarding what they would want to see in NASCAR's return to the silver screen.

"There's always new technologies, new ways to do things and see things," Bruckheimer told Entertainment Tonight. "Tom (Cruise) is a great individual. (He) comes up with phenomenal ideas. We'll have something really exciting for an audience once we pull it together."
Bruckheimer's comments are far from the first time a party involved with a potential sequel has expressed interest in a second "Days of Thunder" film. Cruise told Jeff Gordon that he would be interested in making a sequel to "Days of Thunder," while reports have surfaced that there is substance behind the idea.
"Days of Thunder" was released in 1990 and was produced by Bruckheimer. The film, which tells the story of a young NASCAR driver portrayed by Cruise, grossed over $157.9 million worldwide. Three-and-a-half decades after its release, it is widely regarded as one of the best NASCAR films ever made.
