Without playing a down, Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Jack Bech already caught the attention of three-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Dez Bryant, who predicted the rookie will have a long NFL career.
"He will be playing in the NFL for a long time," Bryant posted on X in response to the news of the WR agreeing to a contract with the Raiders.
Whether that means it will be with the Raiders remains to be seen, but receiving a prediction from Bryant could be good news for the Silver and Black. The Raiders weren't active in free agency, in terms of adding another veteran wide receiver, but perhaps general manager John Spytek and head coach Pete Carroll feel comfortable with their young receivers, such as the 6-foot-1 product from Texas Christian.
Recently, the Raiders signed the second-round draft pick, just in time for training camp this week in Henderson, Nev. Bech was selected with the 58th overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. Before the Raiders, he played two seasons at LSU before transferring to TCU, appearing in 49 career games with 23 starts and 133 catches for 1,869 yards and 13 touchdowns.
Even CBS Sports' Chris Trapasso believes Bech has the tangibles to play well, pointing out that he has "blazing speed" and "can do it all." In the draft, the Raiders selected Bech as their first wide receiver and later added Dont'e Thornton Jr. and Tommy Mellott, which suggests the Raiders saw enough out of them after OTAs and mandatory mini-camp concluded.
There is no denying Bech can play at a high level, like when he played in the SEC and Big 12. Bech showed his worth and opened eyes early in OTAs when he was able to play multiple roles that brought praise from Carroll. Entering training camp this week, Bech needs to continue to show the Raiders there is no reason to sign another WR since he is the type of player who is physical, can block and has good hands.
It is no wonder that Bryant is already sold on Bech.
