Baltimore Ravens tight end Mark Andrews has been the subject of trade rumors throughout 2025. The 29-year-old is in the final year of his contract at the same time that fellow Baltimore tight ends Isaiah Likely and Charlie Kolar are on track to become free agents in March 2026.
It now seems the Ravens have a big reason to hold onto Andrews through at least the start of the 2025 season.
According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport (h/t Kevin Patra), Likely suffered a broken bone in his foot during Tuesday's training camp practice that could cause him "to miss about six weeks." The Ravens open the upcoming season with a "Sunday Night Football" matchup against the Buffalo Bills on Sept. 7, and Rapoport, along with ESPN's Jamison Hensley and Jeremy Fowler, said that "it's possible that Likely could be ready for Week 1."
Having Likely, 25, fully healthy and in the lineup through the end of the preseason could have allowed Baltimore to at least explore trading Andrews if the club isn't going to pay the all-time franchise leader in total touchdowns beyond 2025. However, the Ravens probably will now wait to see how Likely performs in meaningful games following this setback before they even consider selling Andrews for a future draft asset.
Per ESPN stats, Andrews led the Ravens for the 2024 regular season with 11 touchdown catches. Additionally, he was second on the team with 55 receptions and third with 673 receiving yards.
Meanwhile, DraftKings Sportsbook had the Ravens and Bills tied as the betting favorites at +600 odds to win Super Bowl LX in February 2026 on Wednesday morning. Thus, logic suggests Baltimore won't want to weaken its passing attack before the Nov. 4 trade deadline unless disaster strikes the club.
During mandatory minicamp in June, Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson publicly defended Andrews regarding the costly mistakes he made during Baltimore's 27-25 divisional-round playoff loss at Buffalo this past January.
Barring a surprising development, Andrews should get an opportunity to return to Highmark Stadium in a Ravens uniform in September.
