The Chicago Cubs had one of their best comebacks of the season on Monday afternoon.
Trailing 6-2 after the fifth inning, Chicago rallied to score five unanswered runs and walk-off the Atlanta Braves, 7-6, in 10 innings.
Cubs' catcher Carson Kelly truly started the comeback with his game-tying two-run home run in the bottom of the eighth inning against the Braves' Pierce Johnson.

Kelly completed the comeback in the bottom of the 10th inning with a walk-off single against Braves reliever John Brebbia. Kelly's single brought home Seiya Suzuki to score the game-winning run.
According to Marquee Sports Network, Kelly became the first Cubs player since Corey Patterson in 2004 to hit a game-tying home run in the eighth inning or later and then finish the game with a walk-off hit.

Kelly is having the best season of his career and has been a spark for the Cubs at several points this season. He has 14 home runs, his most in a season since 2019 and his season slash line of .259/.350/.443 is well above his career mark of .230/.314/.384.
When the injured Miguel Amaya returns to the lineup, Chicago is set to have one of the best catching duos in all of baseball. Kelly and Amaya will be asked to play a critical role in what Cubs fans hope to be a long postseason run for the first time since 2017.
