Giants QB Jaxson Dart updates his status for 'TNF' vs. Eagles

New York Giants rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart was banged up two weeks ago against the Los Angeles Chargers. Despite that, the 22-year-old from Ole Miss played in Sunday's game against the New Orleans Saints — a 26-14 New York loss — and he revealed on Tuesday that he's planning on playing on "Thursday Night Football" as well.

"I feel good. I'm excited," Dart said on Tuesday, according to Jordan Raanan of ESPN.

Yes, he'll be on extremely short rest and he took some big hits against the Saints, but as far as the hamstring is concerned, Dart does not seem concerned. Up next for the Giants are the defending Super Bowl-champion Philadelphia Eagles.

The 4-1 Eagles are coming off their first loss of the season. This is a team that doesn't quite look like a repeat champion just yet, but the talent is there.

Dart says he's good to go for Giants vs. Eagles

Dart was considered a limited participant in practice earlier this week, but as he tells it, he's always expected to be a "go" against the Eagles.

"Yeah, never a doubt," Dart said.

The Giants are 1-4 and fourth in the NFC East, but they do have hope as an organization because of the presence of Dart.

"He'll be fine," head coach Brian Daboll said.

New York selected him with the 25th overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, and for now, he seems to be the quarterback both of the present, and the future, for the Giants.

After starting the season 0-3 with an aging Russell Wilson at quarterback, Daboll made the switch to Dart in Week 4. Dart immediately led the Giants to a 21-18 win over the Chargers, and despite two interceptions in the loss to the Saints, he looked like he belonged out there on the field.

Dart has thrown for 312 yards and three touchdowns compared to two interceptions in two games. He's also rushed 19 times for 109 yards and a touchdown.
