Giants' Jaxson Dart, Abdul Carter respond to Broncos' trash talk

Denver Broncos pass-rusher Jonathon Cooper curiously took some shots at New York Giants rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart earlier in the week regarding his celebratory dances and the necklace he wears during games.

While speaking with the New York Post's Paul Schwartz, Dart responded to Cooper during an unexpected war of words heading into Sunday's game between the 2-4 Giants and 4-2 Broncos.

Jaxson Dart glad to have a fan in Jonathon Cooper

"First of all, it’s normal. I think a lot of guys wear chains and dance when they score touchdowns," Dart said. "I appreciate him following my dance touchdowns and stuff. But he’s a really good player, so excited for the test."

As SNY's Phillip Martinez pointed out, Dart and Cooper aren't the only players who got a bit chatty this week. In a post shared on X (formerly known as Twitter) that has since been deleted, Denver defensive star Nik Bonitto noted that he had "never seen such a delusional fanbase" regarding those who support the Giants. Edge-rusher Kayvon Thibodeaux later indicated that he had been made aware of what Cooper and Bonitto had to say.

Abdul Carter vows to settle family business in Denver

On Thursday, Giants running back Cam Skattebo essentially dared the Broncos to stack the box on Sunday. While responding to the trash talk on Friday, first-year Giants pass-rusher Abdul Carter either intentionally or unintentionally borrowed from the "Godfather" movie.

"We believe in our guys," Carter explained. "I don’t want to put too much into it. We’re ready for Sunday. We’re gonna settle everything on the field."

As of Friday afternoon, ESPN BET had the Giants as 7.5-point underdogs against the Broncos. Judging by Carter's words, the Giants don't need any additional bulletin-board material.

"People say things, but like I said, we play in two days," added Carter. "We're going to settle everything Sunday...Trash talk, no trash talk, we’re gonna be ready regardless."
