Raiders WR Jakobi Meyers offers huge update on trade desire

Before the 2025 NFL season got underway, Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Jakobi Meyers made it known he wanted to be traded. Nevertheless, Meyers remained with the club as it went 2-5 across its first seven games of the campaign.

On Tuesday, Meyers was asked if he still wishes to land with a different club ahead of the Nov. 4 trade deadline.

Jakobi Meyers still looking for a way out of Las Vegas

"Oh, for sure," Meyers said, per Ryan McFadden of ESPN. "But I'm a professional at the end of the day. I'm just trying to play good football. If I'm here, I'll play good football. If I'm not here, I'll go out there and play wherever I'm supposed to be."

Meyers is in the final year of his contract and is expected to receive interest from receiver-needy contenders. Specifically, the New England Patriots, Pittsburgh Steelers, Kansas City Chiefs, New York Giants, Denver Broncos and Washington Commanders are among the teams that presumably could call the Raiders about Meyers' availability.

Meyers missed the Raiders' 31-0 loss at the Chiefs this past Sunday because of knee and toe injuries. Las Vegas has a bye this week and won't return to action until the club hosts the Jacksonville Jaguars on Nov. 2.

"[The Raiders] know how I feel," Meyers added. "It's no reason for me to keep going back crying to them, 'Can you get me out of here?' If you move me, you move me. But in the meantime, I got some real people that I care about next to me, so I'm trying to make sure I'm being my best self for them."

Would Jakobi Meyers sign an extension with Raiders before trade deadline?

ESPN stats show that Meyers ended Week 7 sharing the team lead with 29 receptions for the season. He thus far has tallied a club-best 43 targets, and he's second on the Raiders with 329 receiving yards. Meyers failed to record a touchdown over his first six contests of the campaign.

It sounds like he's in no hurry to put pen to paper on an extension with his current employer before Nov. 4.

"That window kind of just closed with the offseason in it," Meyers said. "If it gets done, I don't care for real. I really just want to be in a good spot for me [and] my family."

It remains to be seen how other teams will react to Meyers' "come get me" update. It's also unclear what the Raiders would get in return for the 28-year-old this fall.
