A three-time MVP, Nikola Jokic is already quietly making a case to be right back in the conversation as the game's most dominant player early in the season. Jokic is also coming off a performance that made league history and reached a level the NBA hasn't seen in decades.
The 30-year-old Denver Nuggets star center did more than just accomplish his third triple-double in as many games on Monday night. In 36 minutes, Jokic posted a line with a season-high of 25 points and 19 rebounds and added 10 assists in the Nuggets' 127-114 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves.
But that's not all he did. Jokic accomplished all of that while shooting an eye-popping 90% from the field, successfully converting 9-of-10 shots and going a perfect 7-for-7 from the charity stripe.
Jokic's statistical marvel of a game has only been duplicated by one other player, a legend in his own right, since field goal percentage was first tracked in 1956-57.
Jokic joined Wilt Chamberlain as the only two players to record a game with at least 25 points, 15 boards and 10 assists while shooting 90% from the field.

Prior to his historic night, Jokic scored 14 points to go along with 14 rebounds and 15 assists in a 133-111 win over the Phoenix Suns and opened the season with 21 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists in a 137-131 overtime loss to Golden State.
Jokic is, of course, no stranger to making history or putting up stat lines once only associated with Chamberlain. Just last season, Jokic became the first player to ever record at least 30 points, 20 rebounds and 20 assists in the same game, as he put up 31 points with 22 helpers and 21 boards in a 149-141 victory over the Suns.
In that game, Jokic's 22 assists became the most all-time by a center in a single game, breaking Chamberlain's record set in 1968.
Now in his 10th NBA season, Jokic has already established a legacy that ranks him as one of the game's greatest players, let alone centers. A seven-time All-Star and five-time All-NBA First Team member, Jokic, who led Denver to the franchise's first NBA championship in 2023 as the Finals MVP, holds careers averages of 21.8 points, 10.9 rebounds and 7.2 assists.
