Even before the New York Jets lost their first seven games of the 2025 season, many outsiders assumed the club would part ways with running back Breece Hall ahead of the upcoming trade deadline, which arrives at 4 p.m. ET on Tuesday, Nov. 4.
However, such stories emerged before Hall had his best outing of the campaign as the Jets earned a come-from-behind 39-38 win at the Cincinnati Bengals this past Sunday. For an article published on Wednesday, NFL insider Dan Graziano of ESPN suggested some around the league now think Hall could remain with the Jets through at least the remainder of the season.
"This one felt like a slam dunk for most of the season, but it has started to sound a little murkier over the past week," Graziano wrote about the Jets possibly trading Hall. "Hall is not under contract for next season, and the Jets have a pair of young running backs they like in Braelon Allen and Isaiah Davis. But Allen is out for the season with an injury, and there are people in the Jets building who are leery of the idea of trading Hall, who showed Sunday that he can still be a dynamic threat and a key element of their offense."
Hall previously insisted he wants to stay with a Jets team that made him a second-round draft pick in the spring of 2022. He then torched the Bengals for 133 rushing yards and three total touchdowns (two on the ground, one passing) to help first-year Jets head coach Aaron Glenn end what had become a frustrating losing streak.
Meanwhile, ESPN stats show that Hall entered the Jets' Week 9 bye leading the team with 117 carries and 581 rushing yards for the season. He's second on the club with two rushing touchdowns.
"The fact is, there's a price for almost everything, and if a team gives the Jets a strong enough offer for Hall, they would probably take it," Graziano continued. "But a couple of weeks ago, I would have expected them to deal Hall just to get something in return before he left as a free agent. Now, it feels more possible that they consider bringing Hall back next season, in which case, they might be more hesitant to trade him now."
Such comments indicate the Jets may want it known that Hall could be available if the club receives the right offer ahead of the trade deadline. It also sounds like the Jets will be just fine if they have Hall in the lineup when they host the lowly Cleveland Browns (2-6) on Nov. 9.
