Three NFL teams should listen to Malik Willis' words about his free agency

The Green Bay Packers couldn't take care of business on Saturday night, but it wasn't on their backup quarterback.

Malik Willis put up 348 total yards and three total touchdowns, leading Matt LaFleur's offense in Jordan Love's absence. The former Tennessee Titans draft pick had already shown glimpses in Green Bay, and it now seems like he's looking at a big contract in free agency.

When asked about that, Willis stated that he wanted the tape to do all the talking for him. Even so, he's not thinking about that right now.

"I think that what you put on tape is your pitch," Willis said, per Kyle Malzhan of WFRVLocal5. "Obviously, any opportunity, it would be a blessing. You want to think about that type of stuff, but can't worry about tomorrow. Today has enough problems of its own. We gotta figure out how to get back on track here."

Willis has completed 85.7 percent of his passes for 422 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions this season. He also has 22 carries for 123 yards and two rushing touchdowns. With that in mind and given his youth, athleticism and impending free agency, these three teams should be all over him in free agency.

Miami Dolphins

The Miami Dolphins look more than ready to move on from Tua Tagovailoa. They might keep head coach Mike McDaniel, though, and given his offensive mind, he might be able to bring the best out of the Liberty product.

With De'Von Achane opening things up for the running game and a true star in Jaylen Waddle, this offense can still be functional. Moreover, he might not cost the Dolphins a lot of money, which should be a crucial factor, given Tagovailoa's contract.

New York Jets

The New York Jets rolled the dice with Justin Fields, but it didn't take long before that move backfired. That may have been his last opportunity to be a starter.

But if the Jets still want a dual-threat and athletic quarterback who can make plays with his legs, then Willis might be their guy. They won't be in a position to take Fernando Mendoza or Dante Moore, but with Willis, potentially the No. 4 pick and a plethora of assets to rebuild their roster, they should do just fine.

Pittsburgh Steelers

For years, the Pittsburgh Steelers have refused to embrace a full-scale rebuild. Now, with Aaron Rodgers likely walking away from the game after this season, going after Willis might be the only realistic shot at keeping Mike Tomlin's non-losing season streak alive.

He would give the Steelers the mobile quarterback they hoped to get with Fields and Russell Wilson last season. He looks tailor-made for Arthur Smith's offense, and at just 26 years old, he might even be a long-term solution for them.
