Carson Beck has the experience the Miami Hurricanes wanted. That's why they went out and snagged him in this past offseason in the transfer portal.
The idea for Mario Cristobal and the Hurricanes was that they just needed an experienced, star quarterback to lead them to College Football Playoff glory.
Beck, a sixth-year senior from Jacksonville, Florida, had spent the first five seasons of his college career with a championship program in the Georgia Bulldogs. He started two seasons for UGA and was an extremely successful quarterback.
Beck came to Miami with great fanfare, and now he's two wins away from cementing his legacy as one of the greats in the Hurricanes' already-impressive history.
He led Miami to wins over Texas A&M and then Ohio State in the first two rounds of the College Football Playoff. Now, playing Ole Miss in the semifinal game at the Vrbo Fiesta Bowl, the super senior quarterback has the Hurricanes in a good spot heading into the second half.
With just a few minutes to go in the first half of the game, Beck found wideout Keelan Marion for a beautiful 52-yard touchdown bomb that ultimately put the Hurricanes up, 17-10.
It looked like this:

To be fair, Ole Miss blew the coverage and let Marion get wide open running right down the middle of the field, but it was a beautiful throw from Beck.
He rolled out to his right, planted and stood tall in the face of some late pressure, and delivered that dime.
That's why Miami brought Beck to Coral Gables, and he's a half of football away from leading the Hurricanes to the CFP title game.
