Once again, the Green Bay Packers' season ended in heartbreak.
Matt LaFleur's team blew a 21-3 lead in the second half, and while Brandon McManus' three missed kicks may have decided the game, the Packers might be in the hunt for a new head coach.
That's also because they might have some strong ties to the top head coaching candidate in this cycle.
According to ESPN insider Adam Schefter, the Packers' job would probably be the most attractive to John Harbaugh if it were to become available.
"The Packers president back in the day was a man by the name Bob Harlan. Bob Harlan's son, Bryan Harlan, represents John Harbaugh," Schefter said. "John Harbaugh is a Midwestern guy who has a home in the Upper Peninsula. And a lot of people around the league have been wondering if the Packers decide to go in a different direction, if all of a sudden, the Green Bay Packers might bolt to the top of John Harbaugh's list as the top available choice for him."
While LaFleur would probably land on his feet right away, be it as a head coach or offensive coordinator, Harbaugh is expected to be the most sought-after candidate this cycle.
Harbaugh's game-management issues have also left plenty to be desired, and no one has blown more double-digit leads in the league than he has since 2008 (26).
Then again, given how things have ended in Wisconsin in every year of the LaFleur era, new president Ed Policy might be ready to pull the plug and move on from his young head coach.
