Nick Sirianni seems to change tune regarding OC Kevin Patullo

Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo became a target of criticism long before the defending Super Bowl champions were bounced from the playoffs via a 23-19 wild-card loss to the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday.

Following the defeat, Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni seemed to say plenty about Patullo's future by not offering the coordinator one last public vote of confidence.

Nick Sirianni will evaluate Kevin Patullo after playoff loss

"There will be time to evaluate everybody’s performance," Sirianni said about Patullo's status, per Cayden Steele of NJ Advance Media for NJ.com. "Right now, I feel for all our guys in the locker room, all the players, all the coaches, the front office, everybody that works so hard, the fans that come out and support us, Mr. [Chairman/CEO Jeffrey Lurie]. I feel for all of us, all of them, and there’ll be time to evaluate everything coming up."

The Eagles promoted Patullo from passing game coordinator to offensive coordinator after Kellen Moore left the club to become head coach of the New Orleans Saints last winter. ESPN stats show that Philadelphia finished the 2025 regular season ranked 24th in the NFL with 311.2 yards gained per game and 19th with an average of 22.3 points per contest.

How do Eagles players feel about Kevin Patullo?

Against San Francisco, the Eagles tallied no touchdowns and scored only six points in the game's second half. Nevertheless, multiple Philadelphia players defended Patullo after Sunday's result.

"Kevin’s been great," Eagles left guard Landon Dickerson insisted. "I mean, he’s been with us for five years now. I think he’s done a tremendous job. Obviously, it’s kind of the first time he’s been put in this position, but I think he handled it extremely well, and it’s all about growing and getting better."

It seems unlikely Patullo will receive an opportunity to improve in his role. Even before Sunday's game kicked off, some suggested Sirianni would eventually need to make changes to his staff to keep the Eagles from possibly pursuing former Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh.

As of Monday morning, there was no indication Sirianni was in serious danger of losing his job.

"A lot of the stuff is on us as players," Eagles wide receiver DeVonta Smith added about Patullo. "It works hand in hand. We have to all pick each other up. We have to pick him up. He has to pick us up. I feel like he called a great offense the whole year. We just didn’t execute well."

That lack of execution will likely result in Smith and other members of the Philadelphia offense working with a different coordinator next season.
