Boston Celtics star Jaylen Brown got what he asked for on Monday.

Following the loss to the San Antonio Spurs, Brown went off on the referees. Now, the league fined him $35,000 for “public criticism of the officiating.”

Following the Celtics’ 100-95 loss on Saturday, Brown expressed his frustration after they had just four free throws.

“I’ll accept the fine at this point. I thought it was some bulls–t tonight…It’s like they refuse to make a call, then they call touch fouls on the other end. That’s just extremely frustrating, bro,” Brown said.

“We play hard. We’re outplaying our expectations, we compete hard on the defensive end, and they reward the other team with touch fouls. Just somebody please pull it up. Every time we play a good team the inconsistency is crazy. I’ll take the f—ing fine. Curtis, all of them dudes was terrible tonight,” Brown continued.

Brown had 27 points on 11-of-28 from the field against the Spurs, but he didn’t attempt a free throw, which also happened on November 1 in a 128-101 blowout loss to the Houston Rockets.

The Celtics were called for 18 fouls compared to the Spurs’ 13, but the Spurs attempted 20 free throws compared to just four for the Celtics.

Now, Brown is going to have to pay up for his comments.
