Tom Brady reverses course on Super Bowl comments after backlash

Super Bowl LX should be an exciting matchup, featuring two teams, the Seattle Seahawks and the New England Patriots, trying to recapture their dynasties.

The meeting between the two teams is a rematch of Super Bowl XLIX in 2014, a Patriots win that helped quarterback Tom Brady’s legacy, as he clinched his fourth Super Bowl. Brady recently came under fire for his comments about “not having a dog in the fight” for the Super Bowl, even though he spent 20 out of his 23 seasons with the Patriots.

After receiving backlash for those comments, the seven-time Super Bowl champion reversed course on Friday, posting on his Instagram a picture of him and Patriots owner Robert Kraft, whose middle name is Kenneth, with the caption, "You know I got your back RKK. Get that seventh ring so we can match."

Brady is a part-owner of the Las Vegas Raiders and a color analyst for Fox Sports, so those factors may have led him to initially be impartial.

Tom Brady caused unnecessary drama for himself with Super Bowl comments

Brady's comments were somewhat of a head-scratcher, especially when the three-time MVP is synonymous with the New England franchise. Brady won six of his seven Super Bowls with the Patriots, who drafted him in the sixth round (199th overall) in the 2000 NFL Draft.

Brady has done well to walk the fine line of owner, broadcaster and former player, but these comments may have been a bridge too far for some NFL fans.
