Raiders' Klint Kubiak knows how to fix Ashton Jeanty

The Las Vegas Raiders have a new head coach.

Convinced by Tom Brady, Klint Kubiak will look to take this league-worst offense to the next level, and he's going to have plenty of weapons to do so.

From Brock Bowers to potentially Fernando Mendoza to Ashton Jeanty, this team can have an explosive offense in 2026.

Of course, that will require getting the running game going, which was a major issue during Jeanty's rookie season.

That's why the new head coach made it loud and clear that it would take a collective effort to help Jeanty get on track in his second year in the league.

It'll take a team effort to help Ahston Jeanty be great

“Very excited about his talent,” Kubiak admitted. “But the thing I would tell him and all his teammates is that it’s not just about one guy. We’ve got to get the line on the same page, we’ve got to get our quarterback to get the right run checks. We’ve got to get our receivers to go block for him so that we can get the play action going. But as soon as our players can realize that it’s a team thing, it’s not an individual thing, we’re going to be successful. I know we have those type of guys in our building right now.”

The Raiders took Jeanty with the No. 6 pick in 2025. He showed flashes of great play, especially once he returned to his college stance, but he wasn't as explosive as expected.

Per Football Reference, he finished his rookie season with 975 rushing yards and five rushing touchdowns with 55 catches for 346 yards and five scores. Those numbers aren't necessarily bad, but expectations were way higher. Perhaps the most concerning aspect of his rookie season was that he averaged just 3.7 yards per carry.

That said, it wasn't all on him. The Raiders' offensive line failed to create running lanes, the negative game script the Raiders often faced took a toll on his usage and Geno Smith's struggles didn't do much to help, either.

The Raiders still have plenty of things to figure out, starting with Maxx Crosby's future. At least they've found a creative offensive mind to lead the way and take their offense to the 21st century.
