Kevin Durant's social media activity has been a talking point for years now.
The future Hall of Famer is probably the most active professional athlete in X's history, and he's open and unapologetic about it. That, plus the Houston Rockets star's history of using burner accounts to take shots at his former teammates, led to some odd accusations during the All-Star break.
X users leaked screenshots of group chats with @gethigher77 dissing the likes of Alperen Sengun, Jabari Smith Jr., Kyrie Irving, Stephen Curry, Russell Westbrook and most of Durant's famous teammates.
Considering that, Varun Shankar of the Houston Chronicle asked Durant about these new allegations, and his response felt a little off.
"I know you’ve got to ask these questions, but I’m not here to get into Twitter nonsense," Durant said. "I’m just here to focus on the season and keep it pushing."
This would've been the end of the story almost 10 times out of 10. But for someone as active on X as Durant is, it feels like all he does is play basketball and get into Twitter nonsense, actually.
He's famous for typing his own name on the search bar and replying to random fans, pundits or pretty much every person who dares to call him out. Users noticed that he went radio silent on X when the accusations broke, which, again, is unusual behavior for him.
And given his previous history of using anonymous accounts to vent his true feelings about his teammates, it'll take much more than this to convince everybody that he's not back to his old ways.
