Eagles have reportedly set shocking trade price for WR A.J. Brown

A recent report indicated that a team may be able to trade for mercurial wide receiver A.J. Brown if the buying club is willing to send a high-value second-round draft pick to the Philadelphia Eagles for Brown's services.

It appears that isn't yet the case.

Trading for A.J. Brown could cost a team what?

During Wednesday's edition of NFL Network's "Good Morning Football" program, league insider Mike Garafolo shared that his "understanding" is that interested teams have learned the Eagles want a "Quinnen Williams-esque" haul for Brown.

This past fall, the New York Jets traded Williams to the Dallas Cowboys for the Cowboys' first-round pick in 2027, a second-round choice in 2026 and defensive tackle Mazi Smith.

Garafolo also suggested that Eagles general manager Howie Roseman won't trade Brown anytime soon unless a team at least comes close to matching Roseman's asking price for the 28-year-old.

The Eagles have Brown under contract via the three-year, $96M extension with $84M in guaranteed money the parties agreed to in April 2024. Additionally, Roseman may wait to officially trade Brown until June 1 for reasons related to the salary cap.

Howie Roseman has seemingly sent a clear message to teams about A.J. Brown

Brown has not publicly asked to be traded this offseason, nor has he given any real hint that he could forfeit money by sitting games out if he isn't shipped elsewhere. According to NFL insider Dianna Russini of The Athletic, it sounds like Roseman is prepared to hang onto Brown through and beyond the upcoming draft.

"League sources say the Eagles have set a high price for the three-time Pro Bowler, and Howie Roseman has remained firm, even dating back to last season: To get Brown, it will take a big package. Teams remain interested," Russini reported on Wednesday morning.

During the scouting combine, Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni insisted that he views Brown as "a great teammate" and "a great football player." Assuming Sirianni isn't in a rush to get Brown out of the locker room, Roseman may feel that he has no need to accept anything less than what he wants for the receiver.
