Is Maxx Crosby settled on his future after failed Ravens trade?

During the latest edition of his podcast, star pass-rusher Maxx Crosby suggested that he will be staying where he is "supposed to be" with the Las Vegas Raiders after the Baltimore Ravens backed out of trading for his services because he failed a physical.

It appears others around the league believe Crosby is serious about remaining a Las Vegas player until further notice.

Maxx Crosby may now have faith in Raiders' roster-building plans

"If you're Maxx Crosby and you're the Raider you say you are, and he is, why do you wanna leave that now when the Raiders are putting together some parts that make it more encouraging and give you more optimism than you had about that team in recent memory?" Schefter explained during the latest episode of his podcast, per Malik Brown of ClutchPoints.

Schefter was referring to offseason additions made by the Raiders at a time when it seemed as if Crosby would be a Baltimore player. Perhaps most notably, Las Vegas signed former Ravens center Tyler Linderbaum to a three-year, $81M deal with $60M guaranteed. The Raiders will almost certainly make Indiana Hoosiers quarterback Fernando Mendoza the first overall pick of the 2026 NFL Draft.

Crosby reportedly requested a trade following the 2025 season, but it now seems that the two sides have repaired their relationship. Additionally, it's unlikely the Raiders would receive adequate value for Crosby after the Ravens were willing to give up two first-round draft picks for the 28-year-old who is coming off a meniscus repair.

Raiders no longer have a reason to trade Maxx Crosby this offseason?

"He was the one who wanted to move on," Schefter added about Crosby. "Then he got traded, and it didn't work out, and now he's back. If the Raiders are going to trade him today, I think his value would be 80 cents on a dollar. All of the factors out there make it less likely that Maxx Crosby will be traded, and most importantly, we have Maxx Crosby confessing his love to the Raiders and saying that he wants to be back there."

As Joe Clark of Steelers Depot noted, longtime Pittsburgh Steelers defensive lineman Cameron Heyward revealed on the latest edition of his podcast that he was told by Crosby that Crosby is "staying with the Raiders." It's an unexpected end to a story that has featured numerous twists and turns since late December.
