Atlanta Dream make another big move after Angel Reese trade

The Atlanta Dream landed Angel Reese without giving up a player or a pick in this year's draft. The two-time All-Star came over from the Chicago Sky in exchange for future first-rounders in 2027 and 2028.

For a franchise that drew just 4,400 fans per game during a winning season, the move could shift things both on and off the court. A boost similar to what Caitlin Clark brought to the Indiana Fever feels within reach, and Atlanta is suddenly in the mix for real contention.

Atlanta Dream extend Naz Hillmon

The Dream are making it clear they want to win next season.

Allisha Gray is reportedly finalizing a multiyear contract, and Naz Hillmon is returning on a three-year deal, as ESPN's Kendra Andrews reported.

Hillmon was named Sixth Player of the Year after she delivered steady production throughout 2025. She put up 8.6 points, 6.2 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game while playing a key role for Atlanta.

That consistency helped the Dream reach a franchise-best 30 wins. The team finished atop the Eastern Conference with a 30-14 record, which ranked third across the league.

The Dream looked like they were set up for a strong playoff run after securing what appeared to be a favorable path. Instead, the Dream fell in the first round to the Indiana Fever in an upset loss.

With Reese now in the fold alongside Hillmon and Gray, the team is clearly trying to make sure that doesn't happen again.
