The NFL Draft is set for April 23-25, but attention is already beginning to shift to 2027 and its quarterback class. Five signal-callers are emerging as early names to watch, with some analysts projecting the group could be “historic.” It is already drawing comparisons to the 2024 class in which six quarterbacks went in the first round.
Here’s a look at the quarterbacks expected to drive the early 2027 draft conversation, based on their 2025 production and film study.
Manning (6-foot-4, 219 pounds), nephew of Peyton and Eli Manning, is going to be widely discussed and projected as QB1 based on name and pedigree alone. After a slow start as a first-year starter in 2025, he closed well. Last season, he threw for 3,163 yards (61.3%), 26 touchdowns and seven interceptions. Manning has all the football IQ, arm talent and athletic ability you want in a modern-day quarterback.
Sayin (6-foot-1, 208 pounds) has a huge opportunity in 2026 to become the face of the class. He exploded onto the national scene in his first full season as a starter, throwing for 3,610 yards (77% completion rate), 32 touchdowns and eight interceptions. His full-field ball placement, post-snap processing and quick release opened eyes this past season. If he makes the same impact or even takes another step in 2026, he's someone to watch.
Moore (6-foot-3, 206 pounds) could've entered the 2026 NFL Draft but opted to stay with Oregon for one more season. He earned significant respect despite likely being a top-10 pick this year. In 2025, he threw for 3,565 yards (71.8%), 30 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. Moore boasts a strong arm and big-play ability.
Carr (6-foot-3, 210 pounds) had a solid first season as the Fighting Irish starter, throwing for 2,741 yards (66.6%), 24 touchdowns and just six interceptions. He's a true pro-style quarterback who can run an offense. Carr has good awareness and timing on his releases -- skills that could could take him to another level in 2026.
Mensah (6-foot-3, 205 pounds), the former Duke Blue Devil and Tulane Green Wave star, is a sleeper. He posted strong production in 2025, throwing for 3,973 yards (66.8%), 34 touchdowns and six interceptions. He has improved each season as a starter and will likely flourish in Miami before heading into the NFL. He can attack the full field with good velocity and ball placement.
The 2027 quarterback class is already being compared to some of the deepest classes in NFL history. By next spring, this group could redefine what a “loaded” quarterback draft looks like.
