Denny Hamlin seemed taken aback by the strong comments Kyle Busch made in response to Hamlin's comments about Busch's recent struggles.
After Hamlin talked about Busch's recent lack of success on the latest edition of his podcast, Busch snapped back on Sunday, saying Hamlin doesn't "know what the hell he's talking about." Busch also said he could "bash" him all he wants.
Busch then added that he "can make Hamlin's life hell", presumably talking about action he could take on the racetrack.
Hamlin's response was measured and gracious, given that a driver who was a teammate of his at Joe Gibbs Racing from 2008-22 lashed out at him seemingly out of the blue.
"Not really sure what I’m supposed to do," Hamlin said in a social media post. "I host a podcast and I have to answer questions about relevant topics. Should I just say I dunno, everything seems fine to me? Not sure where he felt I “bashed”. I'm walking a damn tight rope here."

It's not as if Hamlin was wrong to talk about Busch's struggles. The two-time Cup Series champion and 63-time race winner is winless over the last 101 races and hasn't made the Cup Series playoffs since 2023. If a career-worst slump for Busch isn't noteworthy, what is?
