The best free-agent fit for Jauan Jennings is in the AFC

Former San Francisco 49ers WR Jauan Jennings was one of the biggest names entering free agency this offseason.

However, he's still unsigned, and with his team moving on with Mike Evans and rookie De'Zhaun Stribling, he's not likely to be back in the Bay Area.

Jennings' steep financial pretensions may have backfired. Still, given how the NFL Draft shaped and the remaining free-agent pool, he should find a new home soon.

Considering that, Zachary Pereles of CBS Sports argued that the Indianapolis Colts might make the most sense for him right now. 

The Colts should make a run at Jauan Jennings

"In keeping Alec Pierce, the Colts lost Michael Pittman Jr. Pierce is a big-play threat who added some nuance to his game in 2025, and Josh Downs is an elusive slot man with some downfield pep. But behind that, there's not much; the current starting wideout opposite Pierce appears to be Nick Westbrook-Ikhine. Jennings is far and away the best free agent wide receiver available," Pereles wrote. 

The Colts lost their possession receiver to keep their big-play specialist in town, and they haven't done anything to address that issue.

Spotrac projects Jennings' market value at $22.6 million, which sounds a bit high for someone who has never topped 1,000 receiving yards in his career. 

That said, given the lack of interest in his services, perhaps Colts general manager Chris Ballard can sort something out and get him to sign at a discount or get an incentives-based deal.

Jennings is a productive player who has stepped up amid the 49ers' never-ending myriad of injuries, and even if he might not be worth top dollar, he can certainly make an offense better.
