Cowboys generating early hype for international game vs. Ravens

The Dallas Cowboys are months away from the start of the 2026-27 season, but they're already generating hype for their high-profile overseas game.

The Cowboys will go up against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 3 of the NFL season on Sept. 27 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

The NFL has officially announced all of the league's overseas games this season, and in a piece published on Wednesday by Sports Illustrated, Mike Kadlick ranks this matchup as the second-best international game on the schedule.

In total, the NFL will play nine overseas regular-season games this season.

Cowboys-Ravens matchup draws early buzz among NFL international games

"Under normal circumstances, this matchup would have likely landed a prime-time slot in the schedule, as quarterbacks Lamar Jackson and Dak Prescott will square off in what should be a high-scoring showdown," Kadlick writes in the feature.

"Instead, South America gets an exclusive look at first-year Baltimore coach Jesse Minter and second-year Dallas coach Brian Schottenheimer as they look to make their mark on the league."

The only game Kadlick ranks above the Cowboys vs. Ravens matchup is the 49ers vs. Rams in Melbourne, Australia, in Week 1 on Sept. 10. "What better way to open the season than in the Land Down Under?" he asks.

It's great to see the hype around the Cowboys and Ravens going at it in South America. While it would have been nice to see this game played out in prime time, the U.S. can't hog all the good games, so it's fair to give this one to Brazil.
