Excited Magic Johnson compares Victor Wembanyama to Steph Curry

San Antonio Spurs star Victor Wembanyama had a massive game against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Monday in Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals, and it's getting the attention of the great Magic Johnson.

During the game, Wembanyama posted 41 points, 24 rebounds, three blocks, three assists and one steal, and he was on the floor for a whopping 49 minutes of playing time. According to ESPN research, he surpassed Lew Alcindor as the youngest player with 40 points and 20 rebounds in a playoff game, so he made history.

This was not lost on Johnson, who was watching the whole thing.

Magic Johnson gives Victor Wembanyama huge shoutout

After the game, Johnson took to social media to jump on the Wembanyama hype train. Can you blame him? He knows talent when he sees it.

In the post, he even compared Wembanyama to Steph Curry.

"What a game! What a game! What a performance! What a performance!" Johnson stated on X. "The San Antonio Spurs's Victor Wembanyama put on an incredible show tonight finishing with 41 points and 24 rebounds. Wembanyama's performance was so special because he did it from everywhere on the basketball court, including a Steph Curry like 3 pointer down the stretch. Ladies and Gentleman this is only Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals!"

It's going to be hard for the New York Knicks and Cleveland Cavaliers to top that Game 1 when they take the court on Tuesday.

Now, the Spurs and Thunder are resting up, and they'll return to the action on Wednesday for Game 2.
