Brewers won big by adding Kyle Harrison to rotation

The Milwaukee Brewers' acquiring Kyle Harrison has paid off tremendously for the team.

This is no longer a drill as Harrison is on fire following a dominant performance, shutting out the Chicago Cubs 5-0.

Harrison went seven innings, gave up two hits and a walk, while striking out 11 with 19 whiffs. On the season, he's boasting with a 5-1 record and an impressive 1.77 ERA with 59 strikeouts across nine starts.

The Brewers acquired Harrison, Shane Drohan and infielder David Hamilton from the Boston Red Sox in the Caleb Durbin trade. Who would have thought that the trade would end up being the Cubs' ultimate torment?

Harrison picked up the win and lowered his ERA. Drohan pitched 4.1 shutout innings for the win on Monday, and Hamilton went 3-for-4 with an RBI in the Brewers' sweep of the Cubs.

Milwaukee has inevitably transformed the 24-year-old into a beast. Considering how the Red Sox are struggling right now, they are certainly regretting parting with the potential All-Star.

Why Kyle Harrison has been such a great addition

Harrison has been a solid addition to the rotation, as well as becoming a dominant pitching duo with ace starter Jacob Misiorowski.

They are the only starting pitcher duo in MLB where both starters have an ERA below 2.00 in a minimum of 40 innings pitched. What a mind-blowing season these two are having.

The Brewers practically stole the left-hander who is already delivering a full-fledged breakout season. He’s rewarded the Brewers with a 30% strikeout rate that sits in the 91st percentile.

He also sports an impressive hard hit rate of 28.1%, as batters have had a rather difficult time hitting his four-seam fastball.

Harrison dominated the Cubs with a fastball, retiring batters at a huge clip while consistently generating high swing-and-miss rates.

Harrison also recorded his second game with 10+ strikeouts this season. He only had two games with 10+ strikeouts in his whole career before signing with the Brewers.
