The Miami Hurricanes have to feel like they're on the doorstep of another national championship in football.
This past season, they made it to the big game but ultimatly fell, 27-21, to the Indiana Hoosiers. A few bounced of the ball one way over the other and Mario Cristobal and his team could have been hoisting the program's sixth national title.
That's not how it worked out, but Cristobal has been around college football enough to know that the only thing he can do is work even harder — especailly on the recruiting trail and in the transfer portal — to bring Miami back.
It's worth noting, then, that Miami picked up a huge 2027 recruiting win on Thursday.
Aroson "AJ" Randall Jr., a 4-star linebacker from Garner, North Carolina, committed to the Hurricanes over South Carolina, Ohio State, Georgia and others.

Randle is an elite 2027 recruit. According to the 247Sports Composite, he's ranked as the No. 6 linebacker in the country.
“It’s been a lot of praying and just sitting with myself,” Randle told Rivals regarding his decision-making process. “Trusting that the Lord is going to guide me into making the best decision for my future. I’ve just been able to discern with my family and talk about the pros and cons of both schools and how we were feeling.
“It came down to Miami being the school for me.”
Though schools like UGA and OSU were involved, this ultimatly came down to Miami versus South Carolina.
The 4-star took a visit to Coral Gables this past spring, and that's when the Hurricanes really took a step forward with him. Not only that, but Cristobal and his staff made sure that Randle felt like a part of the Miami family.
“They don’t just recruit me, they recruit my family as well," he said. "Whether it’s offense, defense or special teams, they all know who I am, they know who my mom is, they know who my dad is and they treat us very well. They did a great job getting to know us, putting time in and that showed me a lot.”
Randle is a two-way player for Garner High and a great athlete. He played linebacker, quarterback and wide receiver as a junior. On defense, which is where Miami is recruiting him, he notched 84 tackles (six tackles for loss), three forced fumbles, and one interception.
He also runs track and plays basketball, so the athleticism is off the charts.
"Overhang linebacker with a monster ceiling given the clay," is the scouting report from 247Sports on Randle.
The Hurricanes definitely got a good one.
