Indianapolis Colts quarterback Daniel Jones is still recovering from a torn Achilles tendon, which he suffered in Week 14 of the 2025 season, but things seem to be going swimmingly well as far as his rehabilitation.
On Wednesday, Jones was spotted throwing at the Colts' OTAs less than six months after his injury.
WISH-TV shared a video of Jones throwing on X, and it was impressive. Then, the league shared an update in its Wednesday news report, stating that Jones "took a normal workload in individual drills on Wednesday, per local reporters. Jones told reporters he expects to be ready to play in Week 1."
That last part is good news for the Colts. Jones says he believes he'll be ready to take the field in Week 1.

"Definitely still work to be done and progress to be made," Jones said, according to James Boyd of The Athletic. "So, I think it’s just continuing to get stronger, continuing to run faster, cut harder, and progress, kind of, according to the program."
Jones added: "But it's been good. I think we've hit all our marks so far, and we'll continue to do that."
Jones also spoke with reporters about how it felt to get back with the team and participate in OTAs. "It feels more like you’re in the swing of things," he said, via video shared by ESPN's Stephen Holder.
Jones had a stellar season in 2025. Before his injury, he made 68% of his passes for 3,101 yards with 19 touchdowns and eight interceptions. Once he's fully healthy again, he'll be back to finish what he started.
