If Alex Golesh wants to get the Auburn Tigers back into contention both in the SEC and nationally, he's going to have to be great in two ways.
First and foremost, he's going to have to start getting some big wins on the recruiting trail. Unless things drastically change, that will always be a big part of success in college football.
Golesh will also have to navigate the transfer portal, and it's worth noting that Auburn did bring in the No. 9-ranked transfer portal class this winter.
There's reason for optimism, and those vibes continued on Tuesday.
The Tigers hosted a big official visit weekend right at the end of May, which Golesh hinted would lead to some big-time commitments. Several commitments were made, but not all went public.
On Monday, the Tigers received a public commitment from 4-star running back Kingston Miles from St. Louis, Missouri.
On Tuesday, that was followed up by a commitment from 3-star cornerback Aidyn Wiggins from Duncan, South Carolina. He committed to Auburn over LSU, Syracuse and Virginia Tech.

Not to diminish Wiggins' commitment, but later in the evening, Auburn got more good news.
Isaac McNeil, one of the top linebackers in the 2027 class, committed to Golesh and the Tigers over Georgia and Florida.

This was a massive recruiting win for Auburn, and the Tigers put in the work to get it.
“They made it clear I’m a really high priority for them,” McNeil told Rivals. “Every visit was great. Auburn has a great environment, great energy, and it is really just a great place. I just had to make that decision and pick the best school for me. It’s Auburn.”
McNeil is ranked as the No. 6 linebacker in the country. He's also a huge in-state commitment for Auburn as the No. 2 player from Alabama.
More news from this big recruiting weekend could end up coming out for Auburn, but these past two days have absolutely been great for the Tigers.
Golesh's inaugural recruiting class now boasts 14 commitments and is ranked in the Top 20 nationally.
