Charles Barkley has bold prediction on Knicks-Spurs NBA Finals outcome

The New York Knicks took out the San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday in Game 1 of the NBA Finals with a 105-95 final score, and NBA legend Charles Barkley is impressed.

During the game, viewers were treated to a high-stakes matchup that put Knicks star Jalen Brunson against Spurs standout Victor Wembanyama, and since it wasn't a blowout, that made the game more exciting.

Even though the Knicks didn't have it easy against the Spurs, Barkley sees the win as a sign of things to come. Speaking on ESPN's "Get Up" on Friday before Game 2, Barkley made a bold assertion about what this game means, and Spurs fans may not like his take.

It's worth noting that Barkley has predicted a Knicks win from the start of the series. But now he's going one step further.

Charles Barkley predicts a Knicks sweep under one condition

Barkley said he believes the Knicks will sweep the series if they win Game 2. That puts the pressure on even more for Friday's matchup.

"If the Knicks win tonight, they’re definitely going to sweep the Spurs," he said on the show. However, he added that it's a big "if."

If Brunson is healthy, that'll obviously be the difference-maker for Game 2. He left the game shortly on Wednesday due to an injury, but he has since downplayed the injury and said he'll "be alright."

If the Knicks win Game 2, that will say a lot about their strength in this series. While anything is possible, going 2-0 in the finals is usually a sign that one team is notably better, and that's difficult to overcome.
