Indiana Fever rookie Raven Johnson turns heads with move away from basketball

Raven Johnson has provided a spark off the bench for the Indiana Fever in her first eight games as a pro. The No. 10 overall pick of the 2026 WNBA Draft has made an impact on the team early on, averaging 4.9 points, 2.3 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 13.3 minutes per contest.

Apart from providing relief for superstar guard Caitlin Clark, the rookie has also been a pest on defense. This is one of Johnson’s biggest assets as the reigning SEC Defensive Player of the Year looks to translate her success in the pros.

Johnson is also making waves off the court, and her recent initiative has drawn the attention of Fever fans everywhere.

Indiana Fever rookie Raven Johnson hosts movie night

Johnson teamed up with the folks behind the new movie “Masters of the Universe” to host an advance screening on Tuesday night. The 23-year-old took center stage as she hosted local community groups for a special screening of the 2026 sci-fi film.

Johnson’s move away from basketball quickly drew the attention of fans on social media.

“She’s the best!” a comment on Instagram read.

“I need a sword of grayskull!!” said another.

“Raven rocks!” declared a supporter.

After a fun night at the movies, it’s back to work for Johnon on Wednesday. She was back on the practice court with the rest of her teammates as they prepare for their next game.

Coming up next is a highly anticipated matchup against Angel Reese and the Atlanta Dream on Thursday. The Fever are in dire need of a win after suffering back-to-back losses.
