The Chicago Bears are coming off a stellar first year under head coach Ben Johnson, but he won't rest easy until he gets this team to the Super Bowl. The Bears have already made blockbuster moves ahead of the 2026 season, such as trading away wide receiver DJ Moore, but they may not be done yet.
The Bears have franchise quarterback Caleb Wilson gearing up for another season with the team. But, what about the team's quarterback room?
In a feature for Bleacher Report released last week, Moe Moton names one player for each NFL team who could get traded before the season starts.
For the Bears, Moton sees them having an opportunity to trade quarterback Tyson Bagent. In February, NFL insider Jordan Schultz reported that teams had been contacting the Bears about both Moore and Bagent, and since Johnson was willing to part with Moore, the same could be true for Bagent.
"Since Chicago drafted Caleb Williams with the No. 1 overall pick in 2024, Bagent hasn't seen much action," Moton notes. "He's thrown six regular-season passes over the last two years."
"If the Bears get a strong offer for Bagent, they should consider taking the draft capital for a player who may not see the field in the regular season."
It's never a good idea to have someone with potential trade value sit on the bench. The Bears may decide it's time to get something in return for Bagent instead of having him be a bench-warmer.
