Mookie Betts crushes milestone HR to lead Dodgers to win over Twins

Winning is always the most important thing for a team like the back-to-back champion Los Angeles Dodgers, but winning while a star player reaches a career milestone makes the victory even sweeter. That's exactly what happened on Wednesday night.

In helping the complete a road series sweep of the Minnesota Twins, Mookie Betts collected three hits and crushed the 300th home run of his career.

Mookie Betts started off the scoring by hitting his 300th career HR

Betts' monumental home run started off the scoring in the top of the second inning of a game Los Angeles won 4-3, making his solo shot essential to the outcome.

He sent a 3-2 pitch to deep left center field for his ninth long ball of the season and No. 300.

Betts, who has struggled some at the plate throughout to this point in the season, now has 21 RBI, 42 hits and 28 runs scored in his 46 games played. But even after his big night, going 3-for-4, Betts is only hitting .230 with a .290 OBP and a .415 slug.

Now in the midst of his 13th season, Betts also has accumulated 1,809 hits, 1,194 runs, 934 RBI, 401 doubles and a cumulative slash line of .289/.366/509, all numbers that have him on a clear path to the Hall of Fame.

No matter what, Mookie Betts will always be known as the ultimate winner

However, Betts is more known by his postseason success than his regular-season production. He's already been a member of four World Series-winning team, the consecutive titles with the Dodgers, one more with Los Angeles in 2020 and his first in 2018 as a member of the Boston Red Sox.

And Betts steps up when the lights are the brightest in October, too. He has eight home runs and 42 RBI with a .343 OBP and a .397 slug in 91 playoff games.

Betts' 300th home run just further establishes his legacy and the type of career he's put together at only 33.
