Raiders' Maxx Crosby shares major update amid trade rumors

Las Vegas Raiders star pass-rusher Maxx Crosby recently seemed to say plenty about the trade rumors that have hovered over his status for months when he released a song titled "Raider Way," an apparent tribute to his Raiders career.

Crosby spent the offseason program recovering from the meniscus repair he needed this past winter. During the latest edition of his "The Rush" podcast, he shared an update on his status for the start of training camp.

Veteran Raiders players are due to report to camp on July 28.

Maxx Crosby will have "no restrictions" for start of training camp?

"I’ll be out there for camp to start," Crosby said, per Sam Gordon of the Las Vegas Review-Journal. "I’ll be out there Day 1. I think the first time on the field is Friday for like an hour or something, and I will be out there, no restrictions. Able to do what I do, and I’m so f----ng excited about it."

There has been zero indication since the Baltimore Ravens backed out of acquiring Crosby in March due to supposed concerns related to his knee that he wants to play for a team other than the Raiders through at least the start of the 2026 NFL season. Nevertheless, some are convinced that he could welcome a move to a contender at some point between now and the November trade deadline.

As of Wednesday afternoon, DraftKings Sportsbook had the Raiders fourth among the betting favorites at +1000 odds to finish the campaign with the league's fewest wins.

Maxx Crosby will be "slightly limited" for start of camp

Crosby also noted that he won't be a full-go the first time Raiders players head onto the practice field this summer.

"We’ll be out there in the beginning," Crosby added. "From what I know now, it’s going to be slightly limited in the beginning. It’s a slight buildup…to get back in the swing of things. They’re going to have a plan for me. But yeah, I’m back, and I plan to be better."

The Raiders' goal is to have Crosby good to go for the Week 1 home game versus the Miami Dolphins on Sept. 13. It sounds like he expects to be his old self by the time that Sunday afternoon arrives.
