The New York Giants received some positive news on Thursday as superstar wide receiver Malik Nabers was not on the PUP list ahead of the start of training camp.
Nabers tore his ACL in Week 4 of the 2025 season and missed the rest of the season.
The injury and recovery was so bad that it required a second surgery, and there was some doubt throughout the summer as to whether or not he would be ready for the start of training camp.
With Thursday's release of the Giants PUP list, with no sign of Nabers on it, they at least received some good news that he might be ready to go for the start of the season.
It is an understatement to say that Nabers is a significant part of the Giants offense.
The Giants placed three players on the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list before the start of training camp next week in West Virginia:

Not only is he their best offensive playmaker, he is one of the best young wide receivers in the NFL and a blossoming star in the league. There is also a considerable lack of quality depth behind him at the position after the Giants let veteran Wan'Dale Robinson leave in free agency.
To help replace Robinson, as well as account for any potential missed time from Nabers, the Giants brought in a handful of veteran receivers on "prove-it" type contracts in the hopes that somebody can emerge and provide some capable depth at the position. That list includes Calvin Austin, Darnell Mooney and JuJu Smith-Schuster.
Nabers caught 18 passes for 271 yards and two touchdowns prior to the injury.
That came after a rookie season performance that saw him catch 109 passes for 1,204 yards and seven touchdowns, earning him a Pro Bowl bid and a fifth-place finish in the AP offensive rookie of the year voting.
While the Giants were encouraged by the play of rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart at the end of the 2025 season, he spent most of the second half without two of his best playmakers in Nabers and running back Cam Skattebo.
Skattebo suffered a season-ending ankle injury in Week 8 and also seems to be on track for a return in time for the regular season. So much so that he is attempting back-flips, almost certainly to the chagrin of new head coach John Harbaugh.
Between Dart, Skattebo and Nabers the Giants at least have the potential for some big plays on offense, but still need to get better in a lot of areas across the team.
