NFL insider shares bad news for Tyreek Hill after worrisome injury update

Veteran wide receiver Tyreek Hill raised eyebrows among members of the NFL community when he revealed this week that he has "no power" in his left leg coming off the gruesome knee injury he suffered on Sept. 29, 2025.

Hill remains a free agent as teams begin opening their training camps. During a Thursday appearance on ESPN, NFL insider Jeremy Fowler suggested that Hill will not be finding a new football home anytime soon. 

"There isn't much of a market" for Tyreek Hill this summer

"There isn't much of a market right now for the reasons that Tyreek Hill essentially highlighted, that he's simply not healthy, and this could be a longer road," Fowler explained. "Teams know that, but they are keeping tabs on him."

Specifically, Hill dislocated his left knee and tore multiple ligaments, including his ACL, last fall. He then turned 32 years old this past March. 

"Right now, it's simply about him getting his explosion back," Fowler said about Hill. "The good news for Tyreek Hill, even though he's 32 years old, even if he's like 80% of the speedster that he was, that's still really good, and he could help a team."

Whether or not Hill can return to such a level before next offseason remains to be seen.

Could Tyreek Hill eventually return to a familiar spot?

Hill played for the Kansas City Chiefs from 2016 until he was traded to the Miami Dolphins following the 2021 season. On paper, the Chiefs could use some help for their passing attack before the upcoming campaign gets underway. It sounds like Kansas City may eventually be willing to have Hill in for a workout. 

"I checked with somebody from Hill's camp," Fowler added. "They said that multiple teams have shown some interest and that, also, he's still very fond of Kansas City and the Chiefs. He had a great experience there when he played there. If they need a receiver at any point, perhaps that relationship makes sense."

"Perhaps" may be doing some heavy lifting as it pertains to this particular update, as Hill seemingly isn't close to being cleared to go up against a live defense in a meaningful game.
