Vikings to honor Adrian Peterson with Ring of Honor induction

From 2007-15, it's safe to say that there was no running back more consistent than Minnesota Vikings legend Adrian Peterson.

Because of the success Peterson had in Minnesota, he will be given the ultimate honor from the franchise during the coming NFL season.

Adrian Peterson is going into the Vikings' Ring of Honor

According to an announcement from the Vikings' official X account, Peterson will be inducted into the team's Ring of Honor on Monday, Nov. 9, ahead of a "Monday Night Football" game against the Buffalo Bills.

Peterson spent 10 seasons with the franchise and holds nearly every single franchise rushing record.

Diving into the dominance of Adrian Peterson

Peterson holds nearly every single franchise rushing record, but his eight-year dominance deserves a deeper look. Peterson is a seven-time Pro Bowler, four-time first-team All-Pro running back, the 2012 MVP, one-time Rookie of the Year and was awarded a spot on the 2010s Pro Football Hall of Fame All-Decade Team.

Peterson's most outstanding accomplishment was the 2012 season when he returned from a torn ACL and rushed for 2,097 yards, just eight shy of the NFL record.

After suffering a torn ACL & MCL in 2011, he came back and ran for a league-leading 2,097 yards to capture MVP honors in 2012.

Peterson will join a long list of Vikings legends in the Ring of Honor that includes Cris Carter, Randy Moss, Jared Allen, Fran Tarkenton and many others. It's a well-deserved honor for a player who captivated not only Minnesota fans, but the entire NFL world for nearly a decade.
