Texans give significant training-camp update regarding WR Tank Dell

After questions surrounding the possibility that Houston Texans wide receiver Tank Dell would ever be able to play another down in the NFL, he and the team got excellent news on Tuesday.

Tank Dell has been cleared for training camp

Houston released its PUP list on Tuesday, and in an excellent revelation, Dell was not on it. That means he has been cleared for football activity and will be ready for the start of Texans training camp.

Dell has been out of action since December of 2024 when he suffered a torn ACL, LCL and MCL, as well as dislocating his knee and suffering meniscus damage all on one play.

Those injuries led to multiple surgeries and caused Dell to miss the entire 2025 season.

Can Tank Dell return to old form?

Prior to his gruesome injury in 2024, Dell was putting together back-to-back solid seasons. In his rookie campaign in 2023, he hauled in 47 catches for 709 yards and seven touchdowns in just 11 games.

Dell appeared in 14 games in 2024 before his injury, collecting 51 catches for 667 yards and three touchdowns. Despite sharing the field with star receiver Nico Collins, Dell was on pace to fly past his rookie year production in terms of catches and yards.

C.J. Stroud has no excuses not to play well this season amid Tank Dell return

With Dell returning to join the aforementioned Collins, Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud now has his two favorite targets back in the fold.

Stroud has everything needed to perform at the level Houston expected him to when it selected Stroud No. 2 overall in 2021.

With a fifth-year option looming, a down season for Stroud with his weapons available may mark the end of his career in Houston.
